The week that was...

Again, I find myself needing to catch up!! tut! tut!
Work has been pleasantly busy, life bar one hiccup has been surprisingly pleasant and my efforts to keep fit and eat well has been err.. surprising!

Last Saturday, in the mud and rain, I finished the 6.9km Walk portion of the Hallwilerseelauf with an official time of 1:16:20,8 (hehe, that seems SO pretentious!). It wasn't a great time though, I was in the last 20 to finish
I keep having to remind myself I'm not doing these walks to race but merely as a form of excercise but the competitive side of me is really struggling with this!

There were official photographers all along the route and in spite of how horrifyingly embarressed I am by these photos, I'm sharing them with you! and yes, you should feel honoured :-p

This time I was lucky enough to have someone walk with me! It was great to share the experience with her!! Thank you @cncx YOU'RE THE BEST!

In turn, I'll be joining her at the Lausanne Marathon on October 31 . No, no, don't panic!, I won't be running a marathon!! hahaha!! Firstly, she'll be braving the 1/4 marathon run (10.5km) as a team event with the work colleagues. I'll be doing the 1/4 marathon walking event instead. I've gradually built up my walking from the 2.5km Breast Cancer Awareness walk to the 6.9km Hallwilerseelauf and now this 10.5km Lausanne Marathon. Never in a million years would I ever, EVER have classified myself as any sort of athlete and now look at me!! I've shocked myself when I've found I'm browsing sporting websites to find the next walk to sign up for. Who is this person??
So yay me, I'm really looking forward to this walk. Again I have to remind competitive self to chill and this is part of the Fatty Fatty project - I do not need to win this!! *sigh* heaven help me!

In other non-tiring news, I was thrilled, excited, sssoooo happy to finally meet and spend time with my dear friend @JHBprincess and yes lads, she is every bit as sexy, confident and fun as she comes across online. I wish we had more time together and I can't wait to see her during my SA holiday in January!!

I'm way behind on the my 30 days challenge, so fair warning to all, posts should come through fast and furiously!! Catch up on my30days entries so far here. (yes, I will be backdating them.. I'm a cheat like that!)

The amazing Sharon of Life Images Photography recently spent a week in Cape Town and I arranged for her to do a shoot with my nearest and dearest. The photos are amazing!! Sharon is SO talented, she made everyone feel at ease and they all had a good time. I highly recommend her to anyone in Gauteng (where she's based) and in Cape Town (for the next time she travels). Look at these beautiful photos if my blurb was not convincing enough...
