Marking celebrations
I love my tattoos.. each one represents a time in my life that I do not want to forget, each one I carry with me, I see them and feel them and they make me more alive, give me hope and make me smile.
I had this done almost 8 years ago now, after a series of surgeries and been told I had the all-clear (if only for that time). When she saw it, my Angel, then 7 years old, said "Mummy, you always have the sun shining on you.", how precious and how true is that!
On my last visit to SA in January 2009, my lil sis, T, and I went to the tattoo studio together and had these done. Her's is slightly different, having added the initials of my gorgeous nephew in the curve of the tail. I love this tatoo, to me it represents T's strength and mild aggressiveness, not to people but to life and challenges. She is one tough cookie!!, and I hope this bond has given me a bit of that strength. I love her SO much!
Many of you would have seen this posted on my blog just minutes after having it done last November. The first tattoo I had done in Switzerland, I was quite impressed with the studio and the artist, and will definitely be going back there. Obviously, this tattoo is for my Angel 
I was sure to have it done before her visit in December, hoping she'd like it and thankfully she did. It makes me so proud to see her name so often during the day, to be reminded what a lucky mom I am.
So now I'm planning my next tattoo.. I'll have it done in SA when I visit in January. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have seven and each one I am nutz about. When you get to the Cape, keep your mind open and it will come. A place - a moment. Look at colour, they have fab colours now. Oh AND, I have one on my wrist and on my neck, pretty close I'd say..... I got my flower ideas from Courtney Love. Most of my tattoos have initials in them. My daughter has 3 butterflies. (I will send you a pic) the meaning of butterflies is beautiful, it was perfect for her. Heck, ok after that small lecture - let me buzz of. XX take a look at the Swarovski heart and rope crystal. its on a necklace. Ok, enough SM ....time toooo Gooo... xox
